Walking with Someone

It all began with her reaching out to ask to ask Grace to go for a walk. Before you know it, Layla opened up to talk about the stress and the strains on her life. Even though Layla didn’t lose her problems, she found an answer to dealing with her stress and strains.

Grace is a people helper. How can we tell? She walks with people, listens to people and loves people. Whether you relate to Grace, Layla or both, walking alongside can be an answer to what is bothering you.

Why can walking together be so hard? Well … I bet you can answer that question. Getting out of our own way can be one reason and is overcome by putting aside the fears in our head, the thoughts of what someone will think of us or the broken trust with someone in the past.

So unhook yourself from what gets in your way and walk with someone. Reach out to someone and give opportunity a try. Whether you want to talk about life stressors or you are concerned about someone’s life, take a small step and reach out.

Below are some conversation starters:

“Good morning Grace, I notice you are a caring person.”

“Hello Grace, do you have a moment? I want to see if you can meet up with me in the near future to take a walk. I need a bit to talk to someone like you.”

Conversation starters when you want to help someone:

“Hi Layla, do you like to walk? I have time today, if you want to take a stroll at the park.”

“Layla, I noticed you look down. If you want to take a walk sometime, let me know.”
